In a place as football crazy as San Antonio, there's always a marquee matchup to watch for every Friday night as well as a few surprises along the way.
District 27-6A seems to always have a matchup to look out for and this week it was Steele hosting O'Connor. And this week it was the Panthers that came out on top beating the Knights 42-30 thanks to a strong showing in the second half.
The Johnson Jaguars scored 14 points in the 4th quarter to just get by the Brennan Bears 20-17. Judson continued its dominant ways as the Rockets beat the Roosevelt Rough Riders 62-21. And the Clark Cougars got their first win of the season beating the Lee Volunteers 44-21.
Meanwhile, the Madison Mavericks defeated the New Braunfels Canyon Cougars 43-22 for their first win of the season.
The Alamo Heights Mules dispatched of the Victoria West Warriors 42-14. The Edison Golden Bears edged the Sam Houston Hurricanes 14-12. And finally, the South San Bobcats used a strong second half to beat the Antonian Apache 42-28.
