SAN ANTONIO -- Warren High School basketball standout Toriat Waller Prince is focused on his Warriors running the playoffs. But after the season ends, the senior will turn his attention north to Long Island University.

It's a far way from home, but he won't be the only San Antonian on the Blackbirds' roster. Julian Boyd, Brandon Thompson and Jason Brickman have also been recruited to Long Island.

LIU head coach Jim Ferry said he first started recruiting in San Antonio about 10 years ago.

"I hit what I presumed to be the biggest, the three biggest metropolitan areas: in Dallas, Houston and we really hit gold in San Antonio," he said.

Likewise, Waller Prince also feels he hit gold by securing a spot on the team. He said he also looks forward to making big the move to the Big Apple -- even if the city never sleeps.
