HOUSTON—While some people think the Astrodome should be demolished, an Astros legend said he hopes that won’t happen.

Earlier Tuesday Bob Aspromonte reflected on the sad state of the Dome. When he played there it truly was the Eighth Wonder of the World, but it’s now a mess inside.

Despite that, Aspromonte said he thinks the building still has value to the city.

“I look at it from a historical standpoint. You’ve got to be able to save this Astrodome somehow. Historically what it’s done for the city of Houston, and what is going on now, it’s very hard to do anything, but to save this dome,” he said.

Aspromonte played in the Dome for four seasons, including the year the stadium opened in 1965.
