The City of San Antonio made professional baseball news Friday even though it's the sports off season.

Tickets went on sale at noon Friday for the city's first-ever Major League Baseball game.

About 25 percent of tickets were sold in the first few hours.

The Texas Rangers will face off against the San Diego Padres in an exhibition double-header this spring. The first game will be on Friday, March 29, and the second is scheduled for Saturday, March 30.

Tickets can be purchased online at TicketMaster.com, over the phone, or in person at the Alamodome Box Office.
