3 Texas State football buses involved in accident

LAS CRUCES, NM - Texas State officials said three buses carrying members of the Texas State University football team and other members of the university were involved in a crash on I-10 near Vinton, Texas Saturday.

A total of six Texas State university members were taken to local hospitals with non-life threatening injuries. Texas State refused to say who exactly was involved, but the Las Cruces Sun-News in New Mexico said receive Elijah King was the only player taken to a hospital. The others taken to local hospitals were two cheerleaders, a student coach, and a video person.

Texas State was in the region for a game against the New Mexico State Aggies. As a result of the crash, the kickoff of the game was pushed back to 3:30 p.m.

According to the Las Cruces Sun-News, Las Cruces Public Schools supplied school buses to the scene to get essential personnel to the game.
