Dogs and children donned colorful, creative outfits for Sunday afternoon's 4th Annual Purium Pet Parade at the Barshop Jewish Community Center. The parade proved entertaining as the parading pooches didn't always obey their owner's commands along with several wardrobe malfunctions. Think: A dachshund's hot dog costume - made from fresh bread - was the edible envy of other puppy competitors.
The event was organized by San Antonio' section of the National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW) and included three dogs available for adoption, micro-chipping services, pet and person-friendly snacks, and face-painting.
This Wednesday, February 29, San Antonio's NCJW and Family Violence Prevention Services are sponsoring the Third Annual Can't Beat Love Video Contest Awards Night. The event, which screens short films addressing bullying, begins at 7:00 pm at Santikos Northwest 14. For more information on this event, visit www.cantbeatlovesa.org
