Six pets and their proud owners shared the spotlight on Sunday after rrrrrrounding up more than $53,000 for the San Antonio Humane Society.
The El Rey Fido Royal Court strutted past the gawking crowd and endured the bright cameras while getting fitted for their grr-robes during the Fiesta Fidos and Fashion show at the North Star Mall on Sunday, March 25, 2012.
Five pups and one cat made this year's Royal Court. Each pet, with the help of their owners, found hundreds of supporters to make donations to the humane society.
Following the Royal Court, very festive furballs took the the catwalk in the Fiesta Style Canine Costume Contest. Among the judges was KENS 5's Natalie Tejeda and her pup Gizmo.
The 10th annual El Rey Fido Coronation Ball will be held April 14 at the Grand Hyatt. The event is free and open to the public. All dogs are welcome. The Royal Court will arrive to the ball by river barges to kick off the ball at 10 a.m.
