HELOTES -- Families and friends braved the South Texas heat on Saturday, May 5, 2012 for the 46th annual Cornyval. The four-day festivity includes carnival rides, calorie counting concessions, live music, vendors, and games for children.
The first Cornyval was held in 1966 as a celebration for the newly built post office, and today the event remains a fundraiser for local non-profit organizations.
Admission to the grounds is $10, but parking is free. The festival concludes Sunday, May 6, at 8:00 p.m.
