Roll down your car windows and breath deeply as you cruise through San Antonio and into the country -- Texas bluebonnets are putting on an amazing display this year.
The state flower started blooming to the south of San Antonio at the beginning of March and are now in full bloom to the north in the Bulverde area.
Wendy Meyer, a manager at the Shades of Green nursery on Sunset Road, said the mild winter caused the flowers to bloom a little early this year, and that the recent rainfall has really provided South Texas with an amazing display this spring.
"They just make you happy," Meyer said. "They really make you feel like spring is here."
Bluebonnets are everywhere, adding ambiance to our commute on Loop 1604 and saying good morning at the base of our mailboxes. We've asked our KENS 5 viewers to share with us their favorite bluebonnet spots and photos.
