Despite the violence along the border, area malls, such as La Cantera, expect a record number of shoppers from Mexico over the Easter weekend.
The mall estimates more than 60% of its shoppers this weekend will be from Mexico.
While the violence has not stopped many from coming, more Mexican Nationals are flying or traveling in large groups for safety.
Several shoppers from Mexico said a favorable peso to dollar exchange was an added incentive for them to come to shop in San Antonio.
