DEVINE -- Roy and Essie Dubois were relaxing in their home on Monday evening when, without a moment's notice, the house was ravaged by the storm.

"It just seemed like it was a matter of seconds, just a few seconds," Essie said.

Roy and Essie immediately sought cover from the wrath of the storm.

"I got in a hall closet and he got in a little bath and we made it through," Essie said.

Both areas were the only part of the house where the roof stayed intact. The rest of the Dubois home including the living room, kitchen and both bedrooms are in shambles.

The couple says despite the damage they are still thankful and acknowledge that things could have been much worse.

"We're lucky to be alive, it's true," Essie said.
