SAN ANTONIO -- Ernesto Montemayor managed to aviod authortities for over a year, until he was caught Monday in West Bexar County.
The retired military officer had been staying at a home on the 400 block of Resurection Road.
Investigators say Montemayor has been charged with five counts of Sexual Assault of a Child warrants and two Improper Relations with a Student warrants. The warrants were issued for charges out of the Harris County Sheriff's Office, where numerous cases had been filed on the suspect beginning in 2011. Montemayor is accused of having an improper relationship with a 16-year-old student beginning in 2010, when he was still working at Pasadena High School as a ROTC Instructor. Montemayor is a retired Gunnery Sergeant from the United States Marine Corps.
Montemayor resigned from his position with Pasadena High School in February 2011, when he realized the school was aware of the allegations. He then moved to Corpus Christi, and most recently was staying in San Antonio with relatives. Montemayor will be booked into the Bexar County Adult Detention Center awaiting extradition back to Harris County.
