Another San Antonio post office could be closing due to federal budget cuts. A hearing on the possible closure of the Hackberry Street office is taking place Thursday night.

"Once they close it, it's permanent. You'll never get that post office open again. So, that's why it's very important to keep this post office open for this community here," said Alex Aleman, president of the San Antonio Alamo Area Local chapter of the American Postal Workers Union.

Aleman said that's why it's important for residents of who use that post office to make their voice heard and attend the meeting. According to Aleman depending on how the United States Postal Service feels, they could close the Hackberry location as soon as a couple of months. Other than attending hearings for possible post office closure Aleman said resident can contact their local congress member.
