SAN ANTONIO-- A man who has served 25 years in prison is up for parole, but family members of the victim are working hard to keep him in prison.
Ernest Jack Chappelle was sentenced to life in prison for stabbing to death his wife Lisa Marie. She was pregnant at the time and the couple also had a 1-year-old daughter, who witnessed the crime.
Chappelle is now 47 and living at a prison near Houston. His review will take place on September 26. He has been eligible for parole since 2007.
Lisa Marie's mother worries Chappelle would move to the San Antonio area where he is known to have family members.
"All I can say is he's evil," said Betty Corona. "He has no respect for himself, no love for himself, no remorse."
