They make great stocking stuffers, but the National Council on Problem Gambling says giving lottery scratch-off tickets to kids as Christmas gifts could turn them into gamblaholics.

Now that people are fully immersed in the holiday shopping season, the Texas Lottery has joined forces with NCPG to discourage adults from giving lottery tickets to minors.

"Holiday tickets with festive artwork and winter themes are always popular as stocking stuffers, but the games are designed with adults in mind," says Texas Lottery Commission Deputy Director Gary Grief.  "You must be at least 18 years old to purchase a Texas Lottery ticket," he says.

The Texas Lottery is supporting NCPG's national campaign by releasing a series of public service announcements.
