
Wendy Rigby
Medical Reporter
Wendy Rigby is an Emmy award-winning journalist who has been part of the KENS 5 news team since 1993. She brings up-to-date medical and health news to the KENS 5 community during the 5 p.m. daily broadcast and online.
Wendy’s reports have been recognized by many organizations, including the Texas Medical Association, the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association, the National Kidney Foundation, the Mental Health Association, the Arthritis Foundation, the San Antonio Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse, the Texas Nurse Anesthetists Association, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, the Dallas Press Clubs and Macy's Department Store.
A native San Antonian, Wendy graduated from Churchill High School and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from Trinity University. Her first television job was at the CBS affiliate in Waco, KWTX-TV, where she was a news anchor and reporter. Wendy and her husband, Jan, have two children, Travis and Amanda.
