Jeff Goldblatt

Evening Anchor

Award-winning journalist Jeff Goldblatt joined KENS 5 in August 2012 as an evening news anchor. He anchors Eyewitness News at 5 with Deborah Knapp and Eyewitness News at 6 and 10 with Sarah Lucero.

Goldblatt most recently worked for NBC 5 News in Chicago, where he appeared on the anchor desk and as a reporter on a variety of assignments.

From 2008 through 2010, Goldblatt was the main anchor for the prime-time newscast of Fox Chicago/WFLD. In addition to in-studio anchoring, his responsibilities included field anchoring and interviews with key newsmakers from the desk.

While at WFLD, he won two regional Emmy Awards, one for investigative reporting and the other for hard-news reporting.

Goldblatt also worked as a Chicago-based correspondent for Fox News Channel for nine years. He covered Hurricane Katrina from its landfall through its aftermath and spent more than two months in the region reporting on the devastation.

After the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, he reported from Shanksville, Pa., and from Ground Zero in New York City.

Internationally, he has reported overseas on the War on Terror from Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Iraq. Goldblatt also was on the front lines in the Middle East during the 2006 Israel-Hezbollah War.

He also has appeared on air for WTVJ-TV in Miami; for the nationally syndicated news magazine, American Journal; for Providence Journal/A.H. Belo Broadcasting as a Washington, DC based political correspondent; for WTVR-TV (CBS) in Richmond, Virginia; and in Wilmington, North Carolina and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, for WECT-TV (NBC), where Jeff started his career.

Goldblatt graduated with honors from Colgate University with a bachelor of arts degree in history. He and his wife have four children, ages 9, 7, and 4-year-old twins.
