The Texas-Mexico border is facing a crisis. Flood waters continued to rise as heavy rain fell Thursday afternoon and into the overnight period.

International Bridge Number One and the Columbia-Solidarity International Bridge became too dangerous to cross, forcing officials to shut them down. The World Trade International Bridge is still open, but that could change as more rain falls.

Police are evacuating people in low-lying areas as the Rio Grande continues to rise. It is more than 30 feet above flood stage.

Some of the families who were evacuated just didn't have enough time to gather all of their belongings.

Sarah Lucero and Sarah Forgany report from Laredo, where the situation continues to worsen.
