KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) — Three more American troops have been reported killed in Afghanistan.
NATO says one was killed in an insurgent attack in eastern Afghanistan while another died following a roadside bombing yesterday in the south. The U.S. military says a third service member died in an explosion today. That incident was also in southern Afghanistan.
The deaths bring the number of international service members killed in Afghanistan this month to 83. At least 49 were Americans. June has been the deadliest month of the nearly 9-year-old war for coalition forces.
Meanwhile, police say the bodies of 11 men have been found in central Afghanistan. Some were beheaded. The deputy police chief for the province says the men were killed because the Taliban had accused them of spying for the government.
