GWINNETT COUNTY, Georgia -- A teen reportedly gained the ability to speak Spanish after losing consciousness during a soccer game in Georgia last month.
Nsemoh suffered a head injury in September while playing with his traveling soccer team. WSB Radio reports emergency crews thought Nsemoh was having seizures at the scene.
He was reportedly in a coma for three days. While he said he could not speak fluent Spanish before the incident, he believes his subconscious somehow remembered the language.
“My friends would always talk to me in Spanish and would teach me,” he told WSB Radio.
A manager on Nsemoh's soccer team set up a GoFundMe account to help with his medical bills. A post on the account states he spent about a week in the ICU after taking a hit to the head.
So far, the GoFundMe has raised more than $10,000.
