COLLEGE STATION --Texas A&M's president, R.Bowen Loftin, accidentally broke an NCAA rule by tweeting to a prospective football player.

Over the summer, Loftin sent a tweet to 16-year-old Jordan Davis.

"Enjoyed meeting you yesterday during your visit to Texas A&M," the tweet said.

Sent in June, the tweet violates NCAA by law 13.10.05 which says than an institution cannot publicize a prospective student athlete's visit to a campus.

The school's compliance director told a College Station newspaper that Loftin simply did not know the NCAA guidelines.

He said the school reported the incident to the SEC.
