DALLAS -- Firefighters responding to an automatic alarm early Monday morning were forced to pull back because of a suspicious haze.

Shortly before 2 a.m., firefighters arrived at the Hayes building at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas to find a strange odor and haze. A hazmat team ran tests that found the haze to be non-threatening and firefighters were allowed back inside.

The smoke was discovered to be coming from leaking oil from a centrifuge unit left on overnight. The liquid was non-toxic and non-flammable.
