HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – Deputies searched Tuesday afternoon for an armed suspect who got away following a home invasion east of Katy.

It happened before noon in the 19300 block of Lazy Valley Drive, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said five armed suspects made their way into a home, but they were interrupted by officers who were called to the scene. The suspects jumped in a dark colored SUV, and a brief chase ensued.

The suspects ditched their vehicle in a field and tried to run away on foot, said deputies. Deputies and deputy constables managed to catch four of the five suspects.

The remaining suspect was still on the run near Fry Road and Westlake Place Drive, according to the sheriff's office. A Texas Department of Public Safety helicopter was called in to assist with the search.
