ROANOKE, Texas (AP) — Federal authorities confirm that two people have died in a weekend plane crash north of Fort Worth.
The National Transportation Safety Board says the small plane crashed during takeoff Saturday afternoon from Northwest Regional Airport in Roanoke. Both the pilot and a single passenger died.
Local authorities identified the victims as pilot Charlie Yates and passenger Christopher Pratt. The two men were flying in a Piper PA-28 R-180 plane.
Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
