LA PORTE, Texas (AP) — Police have ruled a La Porte toddler's suspicious death a homicide.
The Houston Chronicle reports (http://bit.ly/LEhWq4) that La Porte police said Saturday they were investigating 17-month-old Shawn McCloskey's death Thursday as a homicide.
Police and emergency personnel had responded to the boy's La Porte home Thursday morning after receiving a call about a child who was unresponsive and not breathing. He was pronounced dead a short time later at the hospital. La Porte is 25 miles east of Houston.
Police said in a statement that they are investigating who was with the child at the time of his injury. An autopsy was completed Friday, but its results were not immediately available.
