FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — Two women were killed when one motorist stepped from a disabled sport utility vehicle and was hit by another SUV, which then slammed into the disabled vehicle.
The strange sequence unfolded just before 4 a.m. Sunday on Interstate 820 in far western Fort Worth. Officer Daniel Segura says a woman lost control of her SUV, which struck a guardrail and spun 180 degrees. The driver stepped out and was standing in the highway when another SUV struck and killed her before slamming head-on into her SUV. The woman at the wheel of that vehicle died in the crash.
