LIBERTY, Texas (AP) — Investigators in Southeast Texas say a burned body has been recovered from a car reported stolen and found torched in Hardin County.
The Hardin County Sheriff's Office on Wednesday night received a call about a vehicle discovered on a dirt road in the northwest part of the county. The caller said the vehicle had been burned and there was a body inside.
Investigators located the car and recovered the body. Identification is pending.
KFDM-TV reports the vehicle had been reported stolen last month in Harris County.
Texas Rangers are helping with the investigation. Further details were not immediately available.
