One person is dead after shooting a relative and a deputy with the Bexar County Sheriff's Office on Thursday evening.
BCSO responded to a report of a person shot in the face just after 7:00 p.m. in the 6800 block of Honeyridge Lane in northeast Bexar County.
Investigators said a man in his 20s shot his father. When deputies arrived, they entered the home and the suspect began shooting, according to BCSO. Deputies shot back and killed the suspect, according to BCSO.
One deputy was hit by gunfire in the arm. The officer is a 10-year veteran of BCSO and was taken to University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The father suffered non-life threatening injuries, too.
The two deputies who fired shots will be places on paid administrative leave while the investigation takes place, as per BCSO procedure.
