SLIDESHOW: A little heart, a little soul, a lot of funk at King William Fair Parade

With entrants like the Sierra Club, Girls, Inc., 'Neighborhoods are People' group, VIA's going-green campaign, Gemini Ink, the Alamo Community Marching Band, 'Got Books?' and Stop Diabetes, it was clear the King William Fair Parade has lots of heart.
But there was a big component of more...unusual fare (a band of 'PeeWee's on giant trikes, cross-dressing beauty queens, a horde of zombies) that earns this parade a big magenta ribbon for funky fun. It's no wonder organizers carried a disclaimer banner:
Our parade does not necessarily reflect the views of the King William Association. Yep, it's a keeper!
