The Office of Historic Preservation says this section of the San Antonio River that winds through Brackenridge Park was a natural swimming beach converted into a public swimming pool in 1925. The old stone bathhouse provided dressing rooms for swimmers. In the 1990s it was converted into an awesome playscape for children. Now it is fun to sit under the canopy of trees and try to imagine what it was like back then.
