Japanese Tea Garden

Hard to believe but according to City of SA historians, this former quarry was converted in a 'lily pond' by prison labor in 1918. Japanese tea importer, Kimi Eizo Jingu, was asked to open up a tea room in 1926. The Jingu House recently reopened for light lunch...and tea, of course. The history of the transitions is fascinating, but the bottom line is this is a must-see. It is located in Brackenridge Park, just around the bend from the San Antonio Zoo.
