SAN ANTONIO -- El Rey Fido fans gathered at North Star Mall on Sunday afternoon for the Fitting of the Grr-Robes and Fiesta Styles Best-Dressed Canine Contest. San Antonio's biggest paw-ty is just a whisker away (remember, Fiesta kicks off early this year.) So, who was the mutt with the most... Fiesta finesse? See if you can guess.
OK, OK...The winners of the Sunday runway show are:
1st Place "Sunday" ( Jack Russell)
2nd Place "Zoey" ( Maltese )
3rd Place "Jimmy" ( Chihuahua mix )
The El Rey Fido competition raises funds for the Humane Society. The honor of being crowned El Rey Fido is granted to the dog who (along with his master) collects the most money for the San Antonio Humane Society. The crowning of the 2011 court is an annual Fiesta event that will be held Saturday, April 9 at the Grand Hyatt downtown. It is a free event.
