SLIDESHOW: New Braunfels Marine comes home for last time
American flags waved along New Braunfels streets in a solemn homecoming of 20-year-old Lance Corporal John Farias who was killed in Afghanistan. Many of those who paid tribute along the route knew the Marine. But even the ones that didn't knew enough. "I never met that boy, but I'm here," said Korean and Vietnam War veteran Sam Darr. "I didn't know this boy, but I know where he's been. I know what he did, and I know what happened to him."
When no words seem to express your appreciation, sometimes just being there says it all.
