The San Antonio ISD has named an interim superintendent to oversee the district while the search for a permanent replacement gets under way.
District trustees voted Thursday night to make Dr. Sylvester Perez the district's interim leader.
The district said in a news release that Perez has 13 years of experience as a superintendent, most recently at Midland ISD.
He's also worked in the Harlandale and North East school districts.
The appointment follows last week's resignation of Dr. Robert Duron, who remains with the district in another role.
