SAPD: Two men injured in east-side shooting

Two injured in east-side shooting

SAN ANTONIO -- Two men were injured in an early morning shooting on the east-side Friday. Police said the incident evolved from a drive-by shooting on Paso Hondo Street.

Officers said the gunfire detection technology Shot Spotter led them to the exact address on Paso Hondo Street where the shooting happened around 2 a.m.

The San Antonio Police Department said officers found two victims suffering from gunshot wounds at the scene.

A man in his 20s was shot multiple times in the legs, and a man in his 30s was shot in the abdomen.

The victims are reportedly in SAPD's "gang file." They said they walked out of a home they were visiting, and told police someone in a vehicle opened fire with a rifle.

Police said at least one of the victims fired back with a handgun.

Investigators believe the suspects drove away in a white vehicle with a black top.

In the meantime, the victims were taken to the San Antonio Military Medical Center in stable condition.

The suspects face two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
