SAPD: Man mysteriously dies during SW-side fight

Vandal dies after fight on SW-side

SAN ANTONIO -- A man died during a fight early Thursday morning, and police said it's not clear whether another man involved is criminally responsible.

The San Antonio Police Department told KENS 5 no evidence at the scene suggests anyone tried to kill the man who died.

However, police said there is proof the man who died had tossed bricks at someone else's property. That's when the fight started.

Police said a potential suspect was inside of his home in the 1400 block of Keats Street with his wife Thursday morning, when his ex-girlfriend showed up with her cousin.

The ex-girlfriend and cousin reportedly threw bricks at the man's car and house. The homeowner and his wife went outside to fight back, and police said the homeowner was stabbed.

All of a sudden, police said the ex-girlfriend's cousin collapsed. Emergency crews tried to revive him, but he died at the scene. Police also believe he was intoxicated.

The potential suspect was brought into police custody for questioning, but no arrest has been made in this case.
