Woman's east-side murder may have been act of revenge

SAN ANTONIO - A woman’s murder on the east side may have been an act of revenge, San Antonio police said Wednesday.

The woman was reportedly shot in the head through a window at an apartment complex around 1:15 a.m. Wednesday morning. The apartment is on Rigsby, near the intersection of W. W. White Road.

The woman's fiance identified her as 35-year-old Dessire Allen. She was a mother of three and was pregnant. He also said she had just celebrated her birthday earlier in the day. Her fiance said he was in bed with her when she was shot through the window.

Police said the shooter vowed to seek revenge on her fiance's brother who went to a party on the city’s north-east side Tuesday night. Police said Allen had nothing to do with an argument that took place at the party and was not the intended target.

The woman was taken to SAMMC, where she later died.

Police are questioning witnesses from the party. Investigators are looking for a suspect with a street name of Chicago and they believe he is was in a blue Ford Escape.

If caught, he will face a charge of murder.

The victim’s identity has not been released.
