Police believe driving drunk may have caused one woman to run a red light and slam her vehicle into an SAPD patrol car overnight.
The accident happened on the city's north side near Interstate 10 and the Dominion Drive intersection around 12:30 a.m. Friday.
SAPD said the woman was traveling southbound on the I-10 access road in a black 2016 Ford Focus when she ran a red light. She t-boned an SAPD patrol car that was traveling westbound at the intersection, causing it to spin out of control.
The officer was transported to University Hospital with minor injuries.
The woman was taken into custody under suspicions of drunk driving.
