Police: Woman rams pickup truck into SAPD cruiser

SAN ANTONIO – It was a close call for a police officer when a woman appeared to intentionally ram a truck into his patrol car.

Police really don't know the reason behind the woman’s actions. What they do is she got into a truck, turned it on and plowed into the patrol officer's vehicle.

This incident happened around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 4000 block of Eisenhauer Road near Interstate 35. Police said an officer was in his patrol car writing a report when the woman jumped into a pickup truck and starting ramming his vehicle on the driver's side several times.

The airbags deployed but fortunately, the officer was not hurt.

Investigators said it looked like the woman had hurt herself just before the attack. They're trying to figure out the woman's state of mind and if something happened to her before the incident.

The woman has been taken to Northeast Baptist for a mental health evaluation.
