Man accused of killing half-brother in Wilson County, officials say

Man arrested in Wilson County deadly shooting

WILSON COUNTY - A shooting between two brothers in Wilson County leaves one man dead and the other on the run, according to police.

The incident happened Friday afternoon at home on County Road 356 and Highway 87 near La Vernia.

The Wilson County Sheriff said the shooting happened after an argument between the two half-brothers. The sheriff said 23-year-old David Greenwood was in the middle of an argument with his girlfriend when 25-year-old Alexander Clay Byrom intervened.

Officials said Greenwood shot and killed Byrom.

Greenwood fled the scene in a car and was later arrested in Blanco County. He was not armed when he was taken into custody, authorities said.

Officials did find the weapon used to kill Byrom and Greenwood will be charged with murder, authorities said.
