Thousands glued to the sky for the JBSA Air Show

The sights and sounds were a show stopper for thousands attending the Joint Base San Antonio air show, but many there wanted to remember an important message.

It is a show stopper for thousands who are attending the Joint Base San Antonio Air Show and Open House this weekend. Headlining the show is the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, which had everyone's eyes glued to the sky.

This year's theme: 'Your History, our Legacy.'

Esteban Perez served 33 years in the Army. He said this was the first time attending the event.

"It is important to bring the youth over here," he said. "So, they can see what freedom is about."

Perez said it really is a history lesson for all to watch. He has a son serving overseas in the Middle East.

"For everybody that is deployed serving our country, God Bless to each and everyone," he said.

Gates at Lackland Kelly Field Annex open again Sunday from 9am-to 5pm.
