Amber Alert: Still no sign of missing 10-year-old girl

BULLARD, TEXAS (KHOU) - FBI agents are checking out leads, but there’s still no sign of 10-year-old Kayla Gomez-Orozco, who vanished from an East Texas church Tuesday night.

Cherokee County Crime Stoppers is offering a $13,000 reward for information leading to Kayla’s recovery.

An Amber Alert was issued on Wednesday. Kayla has black hair and brown eyes. She’s 4 feet tall and weighs 90 pounds. She was last seen wearing a black Racquet & Jog t-shirt and a peach skirt.

Kayla was last seen at Bullard First Assembly Church near Tyler Tuesday around 8 p.m. When a prayer service ended, Kayla went to sit in the lobby while her mom talked with church members for a few minutes. When the mom turned around, Kayla was nowhere to be found.

My parents are really frustrated. We feel helpless,” Kayla’s brother Kenneth Gomez, said Thursday. “We can't do anything and it brings a lot of pain.”

"We miss her, we love her. She was the life of this home,” said family friend Jazmine Aguilar.

During a Wednesday afternoon press conference, FBI Senior Special Agent Thomas Class, Sr. said Kayla is considered a missing person but, that officials have not ruled out a possible abduction. He also called on the public for assistance, asking anyone with information to contact the FBI tipline at 972-559-5711.

A Facebook page called, 'Help Find Kayla' has been set up for those who would like to share information about Kayla onto their personal Facebook pages.
