MELISSA -- A statement has been released from the Collin County family of a 6-month-old baby who died after being left in a hot car by her father earlier this week.
“We are heartbroken over the loss of our beautiful baby girl. We love our children. We love Fern, and our hearts will never heal," Michael and Jennifer Thedford said through their attorney Friday night.
The family also released pictures showing them with Fern and their two other children.
Michael Thedford is charged with manslaughter after he says a change in routine caused him to forget Fern in the car on Tuesday.
Four hours had gone by when he found her unconscious and put her in the refrigerator to try and cool her off. Temperatures were in the 90s by noon that day.
He was arrested and released on a $20,000 bond.
