SWISD teacher terminated after alleged misconduct with student

SAN ANTONIO – An Indian Creek Elementary teacher was fired after allegedly mistreating a student at the beginning of February.

Southwest Independent School District’s board approved a motion Feb. 21 to terminate the teacher’s employment with the district.

According to SWISD, the incident happened Feb. 1 at the elementary school. The campus administration was notified of the alleged incident involving a teacher’s misconduct toward one of the students.

The teacher was immediately placed on administrative leave, according to the district.

The situation was referred to law enforcement for review. The investigation is still ongoing, according to SWISD.

District officials said they want to assure parents that these matters are taken seriously and are thoroughly investigated for students’ safety.
