As usual, the 65th Annual Poteet Strawberry Festival drew huge crowds over the weekend of April 13 - 15 . Area families treated themselves to turkey legs, roasted corn on the cob, tacos, hot dogs, chicken nuggets, hot Cheetos with cheese, Poteet strawberries (of course), strawberry shortcake, chocolate-covered strawberries, strawberry ice cream, strawberry lemonade, strawberry-infused honey - and then jumped aboard whirling carnival rides. The festival continues with the Jay Perez taking the stage at 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Sunday.
