7-year-old girl stable after being shot

KERRVILLE, Texas – A 7-year-old girl is in stable condition after being shot in the head Saturday night.

Around 9:30 Saturday night, Kerrville police responded to a shooting that had occurred at West Schreiner and Paschal streets. En route to the scene, an officer was flagged down by the victim’s father.

According to police, the man stated his 7-year-old daughter had been shot.

He told police he had been arguing with another man at the intersection of West Schreiner and Paschal when unknown suspects fired several rounds towards the victim’s car.

When the victim’s father realized she was bleeding, he drove toward the Kerrville Police Department.

The young girl was struck in the head and flown to the University Trauma Center. She was in stable condition Sunday night, according to police.

The suspects are still at large, and the incident is under investigation.
