SAN ANTONIO -- The San Antonio Police Department announced on its Facebook page Tuesday that officers are participating in "No-Shave November."
According to the organization's website, No-Shave November is a "month-long journey during which participants forgo shaving and grooming in order to evoke conversation and raise cancer awareness."
The police department said officers can donate $30 to the cause in order to grow a goatee. They can also donate $50 to grow a beard during the month of November.
SAPD said more than 300 officers have already made donations, and the department has raised more than $15,000 so far.
