SAN ANTONIO -- Investigators are trying to determine if a person found overnight Tuesday with a gunshot wound is a suspect or a victim. So far San Antonio police said they are treating him as a victim.
Police said they responded to the 9000 block of Bowline for reports of a possible burglary and shots fired. Once on scene, officers found a man in his early 20s lying in the driveway.
The victim was rushed to University Hospital with a critical injury to the leg. Investigators tell KENS 5 he was in and out of consciousness.
SAPD said they found no evidence of a burglary but did find shell casings from two weapons. The victim had a shotgun wound to the leg.
Officers also found a handgun, two screwdrivers, and clothing near the victim.
The homeowners where the victim was found said he spoke with them before officers arrived. They said after the gunfire he fell and started to crawl up their driveway. He reportedly gave them his name, address, and age.
According to the homeowners, he said he is 18. Further details were not immediately available.
