SAN ANTONIO-- San Antonio police were searching for a suspect Monday afternoon that reportedly shot a motorcyclist and fled the scene.
Police had the area at Loop 410 and Starcrest blocked off while they investigated the shooting. SAFD officer and spokesman Douglas Greene said the shooting was likely caused by road rage.
Greene said there were two accidents near Loop 410, including a crash involving an 18 wheeler that drove over a white Honda vehicle. After traffic started to back up, he said an argument started between the motorcyclist and a driver. Greene said the driver shot the motorcyclist in the stomach and took off.
"We have very little information to no information on the suspect at this point. We're waiting for the victim to come out of surgery and we can get some more information from that victim," said officer Douglas Greene, SAPD spokesman.
The motorcyclist is at University Hospital and in serious condition. Witnesses to the shooting are urged to call SAPD's homicide unit (210) 207-7635.
