Roommate dies after shooting on city's west side

Argument leads to deadly shooting

SAN ANTONIO – One man is dead after shots rang out on the city’s west side Thursday afternoon.

Around 4:30 p.m., San Antonio Police Department received a call about a shooting in the 1900 block of Desert Willow.

According to police, roommates in their late 30s to early 40s got into an argument when one of them, the owner of the house, would not let the other in.

The argument escalated and the victim pulled out a knife. The homeowner fired shots, causing the victim to fall to the ground on the side of the house.

The victim was taken to the hospital and later died from his injuries.

The roommate with the gun called police.

Police are currently investigating and trying to determine if this was self-defense. The investigation continues.
